Antimacassars
Antimacassars (commonly known as headrest covers), originated in the 19th century to protect seat covers from Macassar oil, used by chaps to slick and style their hair.
We’ve brought them back to life featuring a range of retro designs. Some will be as per the real thing and others will have our take on what might have been.
Made from quality polyester material, these are thick and have a rather nice embossed diamond pattern.
Custom designs also available
If you’re restoring a vehicle or work in heritage transport, we can provide you with either a bespoke or authentic antimacassar. Drop us a line and let us help with your next project.

They’re great for sofas, armchairs and distinguishing your office chair at work! Friction will generally hold them in place on fabric material, but you can pop some velcro on (not included) if you wanted a more permanent fixing.
Measures 300 × 300mm, designs are heat pressed into the material unless otherwise stated.
